1 DAY COURSE.
If you want to simply know how to spread plaster on the wall and get a nice smooth finish then the one day course will suit you. No time is wasted and we get straight down to it, mixing plaster immediately and practicing the art of applying it to an existing wall.
2 DAY COURSE.
On the 2 day course more time is available to learn about the different tools, materials and processes involved. You will cut and hang your own plasterboard, prepare the surfaces, mix the plaster and apply it to the wall. Again the emphasis is on practice. The basics of plastering are quite simple but the more time spent practicing the better you will become.
4 DAY COURSE.
This is the big one! It will guide you through all you need to know to tackle that job you keep putting off. Our 4 day course covers:
- learning about tools and materials
- health and safety issues
- measuring up your own bay
- cutting plasterboard to size
- fixing boards to ceiling, walls, windows and corners
- attaching angle-bead
- taping and jointing
- mixing plaster to correct consistency
- applying skim
- repairing and patching damaged walls
- tips on pricing jobs and dealing with customers
By the end of this course your individual work area will be fully plastered and you will be surprised at how easy the job can be!
The above are the outlines of the course but we pride ourselves on our flexibility and if there is a particular problem you want to cover, let us know and where we can we will incorporate it into the day.
There will also be ongoing support. Any queries you may have once you have left can be Emailed or phoned through and we will respond quickly.
Not only that but we firmly believe that the secret to becoming a good plasterer is practice. If after completing the course you would like to continue practicing in our facility let us know and we will make an area available for your own personal use. All you need pay for will be the materials.
Plastering is hungry work, don't forget to bring a packed lunch and we'll top it off with complimentary tea and coffee.
